Since early-March, I have been stuck for the most part in my small (and getting smaller) one-bedroom apartment. Our company actually sent us home before the state-mandated order that all non-essential workers would have to work from home.

Prior to the state mandate, two people in my company located in two different buildings were deemed positive for coronavirus. After the second test, they sent us home. I am sure when they sent us home, they never thought we would be working for months with no end in sight. In fact, we have been told we are not coming back to our offices this year.

In the last few months, I have been overwhelmed with work, dealing with a teenager doing distance learning and cooking/cleaning every day.  The days all blended together for weeks on end. I could barely keep my head above water mentally and physically.

So here we are in October and  I feel like I  have accomplished almost nothing.  That’s right, I did not learn to play the guitar or make sourdough bread. Nope, no Tik Tok dance challenges for me. I did binge-watch a lot of television that is for sure.

Did I mention it’s October and it’s time to get my act together and set some goals, not lofty goals but attainable goals.

  1. Finish my estate plan. Estate plan always sound fancy like I have an estate, I wish. All an estate plan is a will, health care proxy, durable power of attorney, and establish a trust if you need one. It also means making sure all your financial documents are findable for the executor of your estate as well as any other wishes (like what to do with your social media accounts.)
  2. Establish a workout routine – I am not sure what that will look like but I have to start. I am so flabby. I am considering going back to the gym. Stay tuned on that big decision.
  3. Eat healthier – I started Weight Watchers. That said, WW only works if you track everything. This is so hard for me but I have to try.
  4. List stuff on eBay/Poshmark to make some extra money in my pocket. Christmas is around the corner and it’s my goal to not use my credit care.
  5. Start cleaning out my stuff, closet by closet, and my storage unit. Seriously, who knows when I will be going back to the office so I am sure there are items I can donate now that Goodwill is open again. Plus stuff I am holding onto that just needs to be thrown out like all my daughter’s books from pre-school and elementary school. Why!! I am sure she doesn’t want it.

That’s it and it’s a lot but I have got to start making a dent on getting healthier and cleaning out my apartment

And I do have to make some business changes to my blog,  both of them and figuring a side hustle to make money. That is for October.

Do you have goals for October?
